Porta Via, meaning “take outâ€, has established itself as a household name in the West Nashville and Cool Springs neighborhoods. Providing more than just the best pizza in Nashville, Porta Via offers authentic Italian panini’s, soups, and mouthwatering pasta dishes that will keep your taste buds more than satisfied. Make sure you save room for a slice of their irresistible tiramisu, a double scoop of gelato, or Chef Laurent’s Special. In fact, you might want to ensure that there is space for at least two of those selections!
Having visited Italy myself a few times and being married to an Italian, I have to say that Porta Via’s margherita is the best pizza in Nashville and the closest to Neapolitan style pizza that I have had in the states. Heck, it IS Neapolitan! Their mozzarella di bufala is imported from Italy and they always use fresh ingredients.
Authentic and certified Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza
More than just a claim, Porta Via is a true Italian pizzeria: their pizza margherita is certified with the Verace Pizza Napoletana brand (VPN). The Verace Pizza Napoletana organization preserves the traditional procedures to make pizza. This guarantees that every customer gets to experience a real, authentic Italian pizza, made with fresh, specific ingredients, and baked in an Italian made wood-fired, dome oven.
Each ingredient has to come from Naples or immediate surrounding areas: Flour Type00 Caputo, San Marzano Tomatoes, and Fior- di-Latte or Bufala Mozzarella to name a few. It’s also worth noting that absolutely no sugar is used in making the dough or tomato sauce. The dough must be hand kneaded, shaped, and cook for roughly a minute and a half, and the pizza cannot be larger than 12†with a raised edge crust and thin center. The pizza is served whole, although slicing is available upon request.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your knife and fork (or not, those are provided), head on down to Porta Via, and eat the best pizza in Nashville! Buon appetito!
