The Nashville Belcourt Theatre  is a hip movie theatre in Hillsboro Village. It specializes in showing independent, foreign and classic films you can’t see anywhere else.

  The Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee is a cultural treasure.  This hip non-profit movie house, conveniently located in Hillsboro Village is a Nashville icon that prides itself on showing foreign, independent and classic films. The Belcourt also hosts great musical performances, cutting-edge live theater and unique programming for kids and families.     Not only does Nashville’s Belcourt Theatre have the usual snacks of candy, popcorn and soda. The Belcourt concessions also offer full bar services so that the 21+ crowd can enjoy an adult beverage while in the theater.  Be sure to bring your ID because they do card.     If you go to the Belcourt in Nashville, you can see movies you won’t be able to see at the large movie theaters but you will also be treated to the work of a local artist in their lobby.  The Belcourt staff changes the work about every month or so and if you are lucky enough you might be able to meet the Nashville area artist during an opening or closing reception.       The Belcourt Theater itself has a very unique vibe.  Located in the heart of Hillsboro Village, it is the last of the Nashville neighborhood theaters to still be in operation.  It was originally built in 1925 as a silent movie house.  It even played host to the Grand Ole Opry from 1934-1936.     The Belcourt Theatre of Nashville is a fantastic venue and should not be overlooked when dreading the masses of people at the large cinemas. Seriously, why not go watch a great independent film, admire local artists’ talent and sip some wine while supporting the local Nashville community?
