Cheekwood, Nashville TN 37205
Cheekwood in Nashville TN is an amazing place of artistic wonder, including art shows and lovely gardens.
Tucked away in southwest Nashville Tennessee is a place for art lovers of all sorts, Cheekwood – Botanical Garden & Museum of Art otherwise, known as Cheekwood. It’s a place for the young as well as the young at heart. They have exhibits come and go through Cheekwood, online they have a calendar showing when new exhibits are coming and when they are going. When I went they had an amazing contemporary art exhibit, held in a “Victorian” style house, which sounds a bit odd but they made it mesh so well together. They also have a wonderful arrangement of gardens, at Cheekwood, spreading across fifty-five acres of land. My personal favorite was there Japanese Garden, or Shomu-en. This garden has four gates to it, all having some sort of different meaning behind it, yet all are trying to point you into a state of relaxation. There are also many more gorgeous gardens to see that you’d have to spend the day there too get through all of them, but it’d totally be worth it. They are also easy on your pocket books, its only twelve dollars for adults, ten for seniors (65+), five dollars for college students with an ID and as well as for youth (3-17), and free to children under three. They also have a fifty percent off for military personnel but they must also show there current military ID. And it only cost three dollars to park there per car. So if you’re interested in looking through some art work, or just walking around the botanical gardens, Cheekwood, is defiantly the place to go. I know I will be going back!
